Do you stay overnight in my home?
Yes. Overnight care in your home is the heart of what I do. Your pets stay where they feel safest, with company through the night instead of an empty house.
How often will I hear from you?
As often as you want. Some families want a photo and an update every single day. Others want that for the first week and then relax once they can see their animals are happy and settled. We agree what suits you before you leave, and you can change your mind any time.
What kinds of animals do you care for?
All critters are welcome. Dogs, cats, chickens, bunnies, birds and the wonderfully unusual ones too. Shy rescues, seniors on medication schedules, and bouncy puppies all included.
Do you travel outside your area?
I travel worldwide. I have cared for animals across the United States and in Mexico, and I am open to assignments anywhere. Wherever you are, I will come to you.
Do you look after the house as well as the pets?
Yes, and I treat it as part of the job rather than a favor. Plants watered, mail collected, bins out on the right days, and the house kept clean and secure. If anything goes wrong with the house you hear from me straight away. Yard care, gardens and outdoor maintenance can be included too, and we agree those together when we talk.
How does it start?
We always begin with a free video call, wherever you are in the world, so everyone feels good about the fit before anything is booked.
Are you background checked?
I'm happy to arrange one on request. If that would help you feel comfortable, just ask.
What happens in a veterinary emergency?
Before you leave, we agree on your vet and you leave written authorization and a payment method on file with them, so treatment is never delayed if I can't reach you. I follow your instructions exactly, and I contact you the moment anything happens.
How do keys and home access work?
I come to you a day or two before you leave and stay in the home with you. That gives us time to walk through your animals' routines, the house, and anything that needs looking after while you are gone. Keys and instructions are handed over then, face to face. I have never worked any other way.

What It Costs
I am booking stays for 2027 and taking enquiries now.I specialize in longer stays. Two weeks starts at $300. A month or more starts at $500 a month. Either way there is a $150 weekly stipend for groceries and gas, and if you are providing a vehicle for pet errands that drops to $100 a week. I arrive the day before you leave, so we can walk through your animals' routines and your home together without anyone rushing. Shorter stays are possible when they fit my travel route. Every home and every set of animals is different, so we always talk it through properly on a free Zoom call before anything is agreed.
